Train lines from Azerbaijan to Turkey leaving Armenia out “unite Caucasus countries”

Very little seem to have changed in Turkey towards establishing normal relations with Armenia. After being invited to Armenia, Turkey president Gul hasn’t yet given answer through several weeks.

Moreover today he announced the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars train lines constructed unite countries of the region. He must have missed the fact, when planning the lines Armenia was left out and is not included into the project.

I guess leaving Armenia out of the project was demand made by Azerbaijan having obvious motive for doing so….

  2. Actually Azerbaijan has no objective motive for this, because claiming «occupation» «Azeri» land, which is actually Armenian land, never been included in Independent Azerbaijan, is not objective motive. The only objective motive is conquering new areas for enlarging the newly formed Azerbaijan, which cannot be considered an objective motive really.

That’s your opinion. I won’t argue with you, but try to explain your opinion to 10 million Azeris that have completely different opinion on this issue…

Actually this image clearly shows what Armenia won and what Armenia lost from “deoccupating” its land:

  5. Should Armenia stand against truth to win? Do you mean that?
10 million Azerbaijani and 80 million Anatolian Turks dream of creating a united Great Turkey including Armenian lands and up to their homeland – Altai. Should we after all try to explain them, that Artsakh is Armenia? It matters absolutely nothing to them. Armenia actually returned the things back before the Stalin’s mistake adding Artsakh-Karabakh to newly formed Azerbaijan. And that is truth. And what Armenia won? … Armenia won justice and did not forget the truth. Sure, it is my humble opinion, you are right.

I am not trying to argue with you whether Karabakh is Armenian territory or not and whether it was right or wrong to start a war to get back that land. I am simply saying that Armenia made a choice and because of this choice Armenia is left out of regional projects including Baku-Tbilisi-Kars. Was this choice right of wrong, you can judge yourself. I already put an image that gives some idea what Armenia won and what it lost…

“10 million Azerbaijani and 80 million Anatolian Turks dream of creating a united Great Turkey including Armenian lands and up to their homeland – Altai.”
Well, Armenians also have a plan to restore “Great Armenia” that had access to Persian Gulf. Everybody has right to have a dream. Question is why feasible is that dream 😉

  8. Thank you for your answer.
Restoration of Greater Armenia is so unreal, as sudden recognition of Armenian Genocide by Turks today. If Armenia aimed at returning their country, they would have never give Kars to Turkey in the start of 20th century.

  9. I don’t think it is worth analyzing the current way of things cut from the historical truth factor. You say – Armenia made its choice. And I would say – Armenia did not try to forget the truth. It was not Armenia to start a war, because before the military actions started the people of Artsakh made their voted for joining Armenia yet in 1988 and the war was started not by Armenians, but by Azeri Turks not to allow that to happen. Was it the choice of Armenian people? Armenian people did not aim at participating war, but Azerbaijani Turks. Who lost in the result? They did not manage to complete it by means of force. What they do now… they are trying to throttle Armenia by any means, lowering the rating of the country in the world, blockading Armenia and isolating it from regional projects. Was it our choice? Armenia did not war, but justice and correcting the epoch-making mistake of Soviet government. Who is right here? The part who aims at enlarging its territory at the expense of the native living native living country, who lived on their land long before the conquerors came? Or the part who tries not to be throttled like Byzantium, like the other native living nations of the region? 🙂

I guess it did not depend on Armenians, since Armenia was just a small province of an empire. If I am not mistaken it was Lenin, who made a decision of giving part of Armenian territory to AtaTurk.

  11. While Lenin was carrying out his revolution, Armenia threw Turks from Armenia, you can read about it here – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Sardarapat
And it gave Armenia opportunity to declare independence. But two years later the same army, which won the incredible battle with Turkey, rejected serving and passed Kars to Turks, thousands soldiers were arrested, the population of Kars left the region, Dashnaks gave Kars with Armenian Symbol Ararat to the conquerors, and the treaty of Moscow and later treaty of Kars happened later.

Felix your map seems to be off, the land that Armenia liberated is much larger than that. Here is an image from The Economist, note the top right corner.

    Or the one from wikipedia
